Hoping Friday isn’t going to be a Monday

Sigh.

I have days where I feel like I can’t catch at a break.  This morning is one of those times.  A truck on the interstate spit gravel at me and cracked the windshield.  The car is due to be inspected by the end of the month.  I’m not sure, but I don’t think I can pass inspection with a cracked windshield.  Not surprisingly, I can’t afford this right now.

There’s a glimmer of hope.  I called the trucking company and they’re “investigating” the situation.  I’m hopeful this will all play out with minimal frustration (and cursing, shrieking and sundry carrying on) on my part.

Sigh.

  1. Depending on your insurance, you may have no out-of-pocket expense for repairing the chip. I would check with you agent even if you don’t have comprehensive insurance, they often cover glass breakage.

  2. My insurance has a $50 deductible on windshield replacement. I think they will cover the entire cost of repair . . . repairing is done by drilling the chip and injecting epoxy and then polishing.
Trucking companies are not liable for such things as long as it didn’t fly off the back of the truck and will usually say “sorry, but oh well.” Even if it did fly off the back of the truck, ya gotta be able to prove it.
